Jennifer Chevais is a BFA graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) (located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) where she specialised in Jewellery and Metals.

Months after graduation, she moved to France because she "could". While there, she rediscovered her first love and the reason she went to art school in the first place: drawing and painting.

She became a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators in 2007 and her first Young Adult book cover was published in May 2009 (available on

For years she divided her time between her three children, her husband, her paintbrushes and inks and books in the suburbs of Paris. Then she decided to bring her family home to Calgary.

In her spare time, Jennifer has dabbled in foreign rights reading with Hachette Black Moon and was a freelance translator for Hachette's foreign rights department.

She is always happy to discuss illustration commission queries.
